ABOUT US

A LOVE AFFAIR WITH THE SEASIDE

A love affair with the seaside and all things nautical was the catalyst for Shell’s Driftwood. Michelle, of Shell’s Driftwood spent her childhood summer’s by the sea, but it was only after a permanent move from the city to the coast, that her passion blossomed into something tangible.

A busy office and buzzing phones are now replaced with peaceful mornings spent trawling her local beaches for materials. Michelle has the area mapped out knowing where her best treasures will be found. Driftwood in one spot, shells in another and the glistening seaglass can usually be found washed up in the breathtaking mountainous backdrop of Carlingford Lough. Shell’s Driftwood specialises in handmade gifts and ornaments made from driftwood and other sea treasures. All are reclaimed materials, sourced from the County Louth area.

Each piece is lovingly handmade in her garden workshop and no two pieces are the same. Attention to detail is at the heart of the brand, as is personalisation. Each piece can be inscribed with a special note, name or logo using a unique wood-burning technique called pyrography.

From tiered trees and majestic sailboats, lamps and quirky wall-hangings - Shell’s Driftwood has a huge breadth of designs. Commissions are also welcomed, so get in touch if you have an idea you’d like to see come to life. If a piece you like is sold we will try and make a piece similar.

Michelle has a small showroom in her garden along with a separate workshop where she spends her days creating her driftwood art, assisted by her trusty sidekick - Olin the chocolate lab.

" I have been busy this year with commissions from businesses countrywide who are looking for unique ways to promote their companies, if you have an idea you would like to discuss please contact me and we can see what quirky ways we can advertise your company... "
